Non trivial discussion between an atheist and a very secular catholic. The arguments are deeply philosophical, rather than theological.

Cuba: A History - Sergio Guerra Vilaboy, Oscar Loyola Vega
Censorship left his mark. Still a worthwhile read for whoever wants to dig a bit beyond the Cuban and US propaganda to understand the history of Cuba in the past 200 years.

Of Mice and Men - John Steinbeck
Steinbeck is by far one of my favorite writers. He magically mixes realism and poetry to reveal the tragedy behind the American dream

In Asia - Tiziano Terzani
Fascinating collection of articles of a great reporter that was not satisfied with being a spectator, but immersed himself in the reality he was narrating. And he bore the scars on his soul. Too bad I read this after reading one of Erri De Luca novels, because I was left waiting for the same poetry of prose and it never came.
