Classico della divulgazione scientifica che accosta la fisica moderna della relatività e della meccanica quantistica alle filosofie orientali. Rivoluzionario per la spinta che ha dato a concettualizzare l'universo e le scienze che lo studiano in maniera sistematica, anziché concentrandosi sui singoli elementi. Mi resta il dubbio che le similitudini fra la fisica moderna e le filosofie orientali siano soprattutto semantiche piuttosto che concettuali. Ovvero, ogni volta che l'umanità si trova di fronte a fenomeni complessi, come la fisica subatomica e esperienze trascendentali, ricorra al medesimo linguaggio.

A classic book trying to explain the similarities between modern physics and Asian philosophies, such as Buddhism. When published in the 1970s it was revolutionary for the push it gave to conceptualizing the universe and the sciences that study it in a systematic manner, rather that focusing on the individual components. I'm left with the doubt that the similarities between modern physics and Buddhism, Tao, zen and other philosophies is a semantic one, rather than a conceptual one. That is mankind tend to use the same language when trying to explain very complex things like particle physics and spiritual experiences.
