Blog intro

ormai tutti hanno il loro blog e allora mi sono detto, perché io no?
il vero problema era scegliere l'argomento adatto, problema tutt'altro che banale, (a) perché di blog ce ne sono già un sacco e non volevo essere troppo ripetitivo, (b) perché ci sono molte cose di cui mi interesserebbe parlare, ma magari non ho la competenza per farlo, ad esempio lascio le questioni di sesso e cuore alle simpatiche ragazze di bigbabol, hanno sicuramente più esperienza di me in materia, e lascio le questioni di economia, società e politica alla grande competenza di siti come lavoce.info e a blog come quello di Nouriel Roubini o di Beppe Grillo, di cui sono avido lettore, ed infine (c) perché ci sono alcuni argomenti, vedi la montagna e l'arrampicata, su cui avrei tante cose da dire ma che probabilmente annoierebbero a morte la maggior parte dei navigatori, anche gli amici animati dal più forte spirito caritatevole! ... indi per cui la scelta finale è caduta sui LIBRIper tre ragioni:

tutti, chi più chi meno, leggono libri quindi spero di raccogliere l'interesse di un po' di persone
perché i libri sono un ottimo pretesto per parlare di tutto e di più, perché se leggiamo un libro di Paul Krugman o Joseph Stiglitz ecco che si aprono gli orizzonti dell'economia e delle possibili discussioni fra "keynesiani della domenica" e "monetaristi della domenica", se leggiamo Kant o Nietzsche ci sentiamo tutti filosofi, almeno per un giorno, e se leggiamo i racconti di montagna di una leggenda come Walter Bonatti, o di un giramondo come John Krakauer non possiamo, almeno per cinque minuti, non sognare di salire in cima all'Everest
ed infine perché i libri sono la mia droga, quando non dormo, mangio, lavoro, arrampico, o sono in giro con gli amici, io leggo e soprattutto compro libri; è davvero una malattia, per lavoro mi trovo spesso a camminare fra i negozi di un aeroporto e inequivocabilmente finisco per entrare in libreria, i punti vendita di "Books Etc." ad Heathrow, ad esempio, sono veramente addictive; insomma ormai compro molti più libri di quanti non riesca a leggerne! Presumo sia un po' come con le scarpe e gli abiti per le ragazze...

quindi benvenuti su questo blog che parla di montagna (l'altra mia droga), economia, società, politica, ambiente, filosofia, religione, cibo, vino, viaggi e .... ah sì dimenticavo, LIBRI!
la cosa funzionerà più o meno così, io inserirò, iniziando da oggi, una lista di libri che ho letto e per ognuno ci sarà un piccolo post a cui ognuno può aggiungere commenti a piacere, dato che vorrei aprire il blog a tutti gli amici e conoscenti, anche quelli che abitano al di fuori dei confini nazionali, il blog sarà aperto a commenti anche in inglese e francese ... se proprio proprio qualcuno volesse anche spagnolo (leggerlo non è così difficile), ma altre lingue NO! ad esempio il tedesco non lo capisco neanche per sbaglio. Altra raccomandazione, per favore limitate i commenti alle vostre opinioni personali e brevi summary del libro, non vorrei mai che si incappasse in problemi con i diritti d'autore nel caso si inserissero parti del testo.
Infine una nota sul nome del blog "isabook", beh la parte di "book" è ovvia per quanto detto sopra, è in inglese appunto perché mi piacerebbe vi contribuissero amici anche fuori dall'Italia, "isa" invece sono fatti miei

nowadays everybody has its own blog, so I thought why not me?
the real problem was to pick the right topic, not a trivial problem at all, (a) because there are already zillion of blogs and I did not want bore anyone, (b) because there are many topics of which I would like to talk about, but I do not have the competence to say anything interesting, for example I leave
economics, society and politics to the great competence of websites like lavoce.info and to blogs like that one of Prof. Nouriel Roubini and the Beppe Grillo's one, three of my favorite readings, and (c) because there are topics on which I would have many things to say, for instance mountaineering and climbing, but probably I would bore to death the greatest part of the surfers, also my very close and most patient friends! … thus the final choice has fallen on BOOKS for three reasons:

everyone reads books, thus I hope to get at least a few people interested
because books are a very good excuse to talk about anything that comes to mind, because if we read a book written by Paul Krugman or Joseph Stiglitz suddenly everyone feels like to discuss about economics with Alan Greenspan, if we read Kant or Nietzsche we all feel, at least for a day, philosophers, and if we read stories about mountaneering written by legends like Walter Bonatti, or globetrotters as John Krakauer, we will dream about climbing to the top of Everest, at least for five minutes
and last, but not least, because the books are my addiction, when I do not sleep, eat, work, climb, or hang out with friends, I read and above all I buy books; it is indeed a disease, my job often takes me to airports and unavoidably I end up in a book store, the “Books etc.” stores in Heathrow, as an example, are truly addictive; to make the long story short, I buy more books than I will ever be able to read! I presume it is the same for girls with shoes and clothes

so, welcome on this blog that will talk about mountain (my other addiction), economy, society, politics, environment, philosophy, religion, food, wine, travels and…. oh yes I was forgetting, BOOKS!
the thing will work more or less as follow, I will insert, beginning from today, a list of books that I have read and for each of them there will be a small post to which everyone can add comments, or suggest other titles to be posted
now, since I would like to open blog to all friends, also those who live abroad, the blog will be opened to comments also in English and French… and just in case it is really needed also Spanish (after all Spanish is not so difficult to read), but NO other languages! for example I do not understand a word of German! Also please limit comments to your opinions and very very short summaries of the books, we do not want to run into problems with copyright.
Eventually, just a word on the name of the blog “isabook”, well the reason for “book” should be fairly obvious at this point, written in English just because I would like it to be as much international as possible, “isa” instead is none of your business...
